Re-Post: PSS Caregiver Feedback - Survey Closes Friday!

For UMBC Staff Caregivers

Reposting on behalf of Professional Staff Senate. Please note this message is only relevant to UMBC staff members. For more details please visit the original post and/or consult with PSS.

**********

As UMBC prepares to “get back to normal” we are cognizant that ”normal” did not work well for everyone. The Covid-19 pandemic has challenged many notions of work culture and how we work, including what we can do to create a holistic and supportive workplace, particularly for those who are caregivers.

The PSS Caregiving Committee has developed a definition of caregiving that is inclusive of those who provide care to another person, as well as those with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or other situations that require increased levels of caring for oneself.

This committee with the support of the Professional Staff Senate has created a Caregiver Feedback Survey to better understand staff needs when it comes to the “return to work” process and the future of work that are consistent with our UMBC values.

Click Here to Access the Survey
Because this survey gathers sensitive information, please be assured that every effort has been made to maintain your privacy and confidentiality. The survey does NOT request your username or capture your IP address. The first question of the survey asks about the division in which you work only for the purpose of ensuring a broad cross-section of respondents.

The PSS Caregiving Committee will use this data to advocate for staff as plans are being made for returning to campus. This is an opportunity to leverage what our community has learned during the pandemic to address challenges around accessibility, child care and elder care responsibilities, mental health, and chronic illness and disability, with the goal of creating a workplace that is more accessible, flexible and responsive to the needs of staff.

To help us help you, we're asking folks complete the survey by Friday, April 30th. The survey should take between five and 15 minutes to complete. Take as little or as much time as you need. We want your voice to be heard!

With Gratitude,
The PSS Caregiving Committee
